Acrylic nails are the most commonly known and used artificial nails. They are very popular among women who want long nails but are having difficulty growing their natural nails. This type of artificial nails is also the most widely used by women, especially those who are always on the go and want to keep their nails long.
Acrylic nails are also known for their durability. Among all nail overlays, they are the ones that can last long without a lot of maintenance and meticulous care. However, you should not be too hard on your artificial nails or else you might need a visit to your manicurist to avoid loosening and accumulation of mildew once water gets trapped in. An expert can do the necessary maintenance should this happen to your nails but it can cause weakening of the nail plate.
Care for this type of artificial nails basically includes regular filing as the natural nail grows. This can be done every two or three weeks depending on your nail growth. Since they are considered the most commonly used artificial nails, it is most likely that you can find a place where you can have repairs and maintenance should you have any problems with them while traveling to another city.
Acrylic nails should be applied and done by a professional manicurist. It is important that they are placed properly to make them look as thin and as natural as possible. If improperly done, acrylic nails may look very artificial and thick. However, if properly applied, they can last really long and be very durable.
Removing these artificial nails can cause some amount of pain and can be damaging to your natural nails if done improperly. In order to remove them safely, you will need an acetone, nail file, nail clippers and a heavy cream or olive oil. You also have to be very careful. However, having them removed by a manicurist is a better option.
Application of acrylic nails offers a good alternative to growing natural nails and it is a great way to flaunt beautifully long and polished nails.

Acrylic nails are great in water. If your daughter is old enough to be responsible and isn’t too hard on her natural fingernails, they will abe fine. I’ve had them for almost 10 years and never had a problem. Of course, I am an adult. If she is a teenager, most of them do well with them.

Hello.
I have acrylic nails and have had them for 3 months now. I would like to keep my fake nails but I have heard many people say they permanently damage the nail and cause problems. What risks am I up for? Can I safely keep them or should I only get them on special occasions. When I get refills I ge them professionally but I really dont want to harm my nails. Thankyou

When you have them removed your nails will peel because they were sanded down. It took mine four months to grow out completely. The only problem you may have is if they come up alot at the bottom and you wait too long to get them filled. Water can get in there and fungus can grow.

Hi,
I got my false nails done only a few days ago, and already one has a very small chip in the paint. I was wondering if it is safe for me to apply a coat of my own clear nail varnish to stop them from chipping further? Or is it unlikely that this will occur? I am not sure whether applying an extra coat will make them more likely to chip? If not can I safely do so to every nail?
Thank you.

How much is the cheapest acrylic nail I could buy? And I only want to wear them for as long as they’ll last, which I’ve heard is two weeks. I only want them for prom, nothing else. Will this work or do I have to keep spending money? Is there a better cheaper solution than spending $15-30 on acryllics? Would a manicure be better? I want lengthed nails but not too long.

Hi there, I’m not sure, i have long nails but love the look of artificial nails, should i go with gel nails (i’ve never tried gel) or acrylic? I’m going to a special occasion in 2 days and thinking of going tomorrow and getting nails, will they come off if i take a shower? I’m probably only going to wear them for a week or so, but acrylic nails hurt when i had them before only when i was taking them off though. And does it cost a lot to get them applied from a salon? i can do them myself but they usually come off even if i run my fingers through my hair! please help someone.
Thanks
