Gel Nails Enhancement: A Way To Great-Looking Nails

October 10th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Gel nails are a hot item these days — especially in

Europe. In fact, most salons in

Europe now are offering gel nails enhancement to their clients.

Gel nails have clear advantages over acrylic nails. They are odorless, lightweight, clear, flexible, and best of all, natural looking. So, if you want an immediate solution to beautiful nails, gel nails enhancement is definitely it!

Gel nails can be used in full nail or tip overlays. They can also be shaped to form nail extensions. Likewise, gel nails can be used to protect the damaged edges of the nails as they grow out.

A gel nails kit typically consists of the basic manicure set, such as files, buffers, tips, and so on, UV light, gels, gel brushes, gel cleansers, and gel wipes. Gel nails enhancement is not easy to do, but it is a technique that can be easily learned.

First, prep your nails, and apply tips if you so desire. Then, apply a thin coat of gel over the nails, and cure. Apply another coat of gel, but this time, add the arches as well; cure once more. Apply a third coat of gel, adding more arches, then cure. Now, clean your nails, shape them according to your preferences, and buff them till they are smooth. Polish your nails, or apply a gloss coat over them.

Achieving a perfect set of nails can be difficult to achieve and maintain, but with gel nails enhancement, you can have beautiful, natural-looking nails in an instant.

Gel overlays for guys do not seem realistic, given the high gloss appearance of gels. Is there any way to soften this shine other than using a clear matte nail polish to soften the gloss?

Or, is a certain brand of uv gel better suited for this purpose? And, if so, is there a soak off product available here ?

If a one step gel for a simple overlays is used, are the other nail products (bonder, cleanser, prep spray etc. Can’t rubbing alcohol or acetone replace the latter two?) still required?

If a one step gel is used, is a top coat sealant still recommended — or might a nail tech advise me incorrectly? Wouldn’t the top coat increase the glossy appearance? If so, are there any offsets here? Thanks for helping, TE

I am a hair dresser and I was new to gel nails, I had a conversation with famous beautician about gel nails and I have asked her, whether I can apply gel nails or not, as my hands will be in water oftenly. She advised me to use UV Neon Nail Gel
