Nails with nail polish are very good to look at. For this reason, most of the women out there make it a point to go to salons, get a manicure and pedicure, and beautify their nails by having them painted. What’s frustrating is the fact that these colors fade or peel off after a few days.
Some women do their own nail care at home in order to save money. They just buy all the necessary tools and stuffs to do their own manicure and pedicure sessions at their comfort zone. Their frustration anyway is that most of the time, the nail polish collection that they have with them would not stay fresh for a long time. It dries up too fast. When this happens, it can be considered as a loss of investment because you won’t be able to use it anymore.
Nevertheless, there are ways to keep your nail polish fresh. One way is to keep it where it’s dark and do not let it get exposed to direct sunlight. The sun and a bright place will damage the color of the nail polish. When this happens, the color and the texture will not be pleasant anymore.
Another way to make it stay fresh is to keep the neck of the bottle clean. Wipe away the neck of the bottle from the inside to the outside. That way, you will remove the excess amount of polish that may have built up while you are using it. If the polish thickens, you won’t be able to close the bottle properly and air will get inside. When this happens, the nail polish will become hard and you will be left with no choice but to throw it away. For sure, you wouldn’t want this thing to happen to any of your stuffs

I find that extreme and regular shaking of the bottle, keeps the polish extremely fluid, making application very easy also helps prolong the shelf life of your average bottle of nail polish. Also, buying a better quality nail polish may give you better wear. I’ve tried some that are bullet proof, and others that barely last the day. Try different brands and see which one works best for you.

I bought some nail lacquer thinner. I like to own my the polishes that i get pedi’s with. That way, I can get so much more milage out of a pedi, because I can fix my own chips. I probably have 25 bottles of OPI. I keep them in a dark closet and about 4-6 times a year I add a couple drops to the thinning liquid to each bottle and shake. That way I don’t have to shake the bottle right before it is applied, so that cuts down on bubbles. I do my own fingers, but not my feet. Don’t try to thin nail polish with remover. It doesn’t work. Sometimes if I have some favorite colors and they are getting low, I will combine bottles. I have come up with some beautiful shades that way that are uniquely mine! Happy painting!
