Since when is it acceptable for a man to paint his nails? Sounds like too many pencil pushers and not enough real men doing the good old-fashioned manual labor getting their hands dirty.

It’s been acceptable since the United States has been a free country! I have long acrylic nails and I’m a man and not you or anyone else can stop that with crude comments or stares. I’m proud of who I am! It’s okay for a man to have nice hands and nails. Not every guy likes dirty nails, calluses and blisters. That has nothing to do with being “manly”. It has everything to do with being a disgusting neanderthal. Grow up and step outside your cave.

I’ve already had five sets of acrylic nails applied to my hands, in a medium longer length. I get them french manicured so as not to stand out too much. I apply a new coat of clear polish every other day and I absolutely love it! The salons tend to charge more for longer than normal lenghts and not more because you were male. I wish it was a little more acceptable for men to be seen this way. I’ve been painting my toe nails since I was young and still do so whenever I get the chance.

I tend to keep my nails filed and buffed, and use good quality clear polish sometimes. It simply looks hygienic and professional. I don’t think my wife would appreciate me having yellow, cracked, broken nails.

I’ve been getting gels and acrylics for years. I do a lot of work with my hands and my nails were always tearing across the bed but since having the acrylics on I have never had a problem with them. I get a refill every two to three weeks and I can’t see me going back to plain old nails any time soon.
Over the years I’ve played with the french and natural look and don’t mind the odd bit of understated polish here and there. I love the look and how strong they feel and would recommend acrylics to any man.
